What began with family meals and a passion for cooking has grown into an award-winning Chicago-based catering company, crafting globally inspired comfort food with a creative, elevated touch. Each dish reflects a journey — from Midwest roots to travels abroad — blending tradition and innovation.

Cooking for me started at a young age helping out during family meals and hasn't stopped. Cooking is therapy for me, food is art and it’s fun! I enjoy feeding and connecting people too.

 

I started Daniel's Test Kitchen in San Francisco years ago while living in a co-op house making meals for the community every week. That grew into a brunch pop up that led to catering and events. I started doing virtual classes during the pandemic which can allow friends, family and teams to connect over something fun and engaging! 

I’m now based in Chicago but grew up in Wisconsin a few miles from farms, appreciating providers and fresh local food.

My cuisine type is global comfort food. We Midwesterners love comfort food and I wanted to expand on that. I’ve learned over time and have traveled to other counties making and tasting authentic recipes and it’s fun to mix those to create a new experience.

We'll be updating our catering menu seasonally with creative takes on comfort food.
